Three months ago we launched TheCityFix DC, the first local blog in TheCityFix’s network. It’s been quite a lot of fun writing for it but, as they say, all good things must come to an end. It’s finally time to come clean and admit that I am that most routinely mocked species of D.C. resident, the intern and as such, as the summer draws to a close with one climactic heat wave, I’m headed back to temperate New England to finish school. There’s still so much I didn’t get to write about, from the serious—why APTA named Catoe the best transit manager in the country and the best locations for pedestrianization in the District—to the… less so—scooter tours and the depth of the terror I feel when travelling up those Red Line escalators

I’ll still be contributing here from time to time, so perhaps I’ll be able to write those still. In the meantime, our newest part-time D.C. blogger, Alex Pazuchanics, should be filling in. Moreover, if you want to start writing for TheCityFix, we’d love to have your voice here too! Contact Erica Schlaikjer at eschlaikjer@wri.org for more information on how to get started as a volunteer. Want to get paid? Apply for TheCityFix fall internship: https://www.embarq.org/en/thecityfix-blogger

It really has been a pleasure to get to know you, even if it’s just virtually. If you want to stay in touch, it’s noah [dot] kazis [at] gmail. I hope you will.
